Submission to the Productivity Commission on 'Australia's Health Workforce'

This Submission responds to the Productivity Commission's Review of Australia's Health Workforce.
This submission highlights the necessity for evidence based analysis of the factors affecting the attraction and retention - sustainability- of Australia's health workforce.
These factors include; the productivity and work intensity increases by the health workforce; skills recognition and parity of income with other professionals and health professionals overseas; and a realistic recognition of the occupational health and safety factors affecting the health workforce.
The Submission also provides recommendations for the governance of reforms to Australia's health workforce, including the necessity to ensure that there is a genuine partnership with the workforce.
