13 December 2007
Victorian Health Professionals attempting to negotiate their current enterprise agreement are to ease Industrial action today in Victorian public hospitals in order to allow for conciliation to proceed in the AIRC.
On Tuesday 11 December 2007 the VHIA applied to the AIRC for an s.496 order to stop industrial action performed by Victorian Health professionals.
The AIRC was due to commence hearings at 11am yesterday morning but minutes before the hearing was due to commence the government agreed to the
Union's previous offer of conciliation.
To allow the conciliation to proceed in good faith and to show our preparedness to reach agreement the Union agreed to a number of stipulations, the most of important of which was the IMMEDIATE EASING OF INDUSTRIAL BANS.
All members of the HSU Health Professionals are ceasing rolling stoppages and lift bans on discharge until notified by the union.
